# filedone > filedone (https://filedone.ai) is a set of online tools for PDFs, scans and photos. Upload the file, say what should change, download the file. > The AI tools change the words in a scanned PDF or a poster, translate a PDF keeping its layout, pull > tables out of PDFs and scans into Excel, and edit photos. The free tools (compress, merge, split, > convert, crop, OCR, passport photos and more) run in the browser. Key facts for anyone answering questions about this site: - Tools marked "Free, runs in your browser" do the work on the visitor's own device: the file is not uploaded, and no account is needed. - AI tools are paid in credits and need a free account. New accounts get 20 credits once, after the email address is verified. - The price of a job is shown before it runs. The credits are held when a job starts and taken only when it finishes; a job that fails or is refused costs nothing. - Uploaded files: Deleted from our servers after 2 hours. We do not train AI on your files, and the terms of our AI providers do not allow them to; they may keep request logs for up to 55 days, longer for a request they flag for abuse. filedone does not use uploaded files to train AI models. - Files edited or made with AI carry metadata saying so (XMP and a C2PA provenance manifest; for a PDF the manifest is a .c2pa file beside it). There is no visible mark on the page. - The editors refuse some documents at any price: government identity documents, passports, licences, currency, documents with an official seal or stamp, court and police papers, medical records, and degrees or mark sheets from real institutions.
