What it does
- Changes the words in a scanned PDF, a poster or an invitation, keeping the layout and the look of the type.
- Translates a PDF and keeps its layout.
- Pulls tables out of PDFs, scans and screenshots into Excel, CSV or JSON.
- Edits photos: background removal, upscaling, restoring old photos, removing objects.
- Does the everyday jobs for free in your browser: compress, merge, split, convert, crop, sign, fill a form, make a passport photo, read text from an image.
Every tool is listed on the tools page, and the guides answer common questions about them.
How it works
Behind the AI tools is one document engine. It reads the file — the text, the tables, the fonts and the layout — works out what the change means for that document, makes it, and renders the file again in the same format. The reading and editing steps use AI models from the providers listed on the sub-processors page, together with filedone's own software. AI can make mistakes, so check a result before you rely on it.
Free tools run entirely in your browser. AI tools are paid in credits and need a free account; prices are on the pricing page.
How filedone works with your files
Files are deleted after 2 hours. When a tool needs our servers, the upload and the result are scheduled for deletion 2 hours after upload, whether or not you download anything. An automatic sweep removes them.
Your files are not used for training. filedone does not train AI models on what you upload, and uses AI providers on terms that do not allow them to either.
You see the price before a job runs. A paid tool quotes its cost in credits for your file first. The credits are held while the job runs and taken only if it finishes.
Many tools are free and stay on your device. Compress, merge, split, convert, crop, OCR, passport photos and more run in your browser. The file is not uploaded and no account is needed.
Some documents are off limits. The editors refuse identity documents, currency, official seals, court papers, medical records and real degrees, at any price. You can still read, redact or translate them.
AI results say so. Files made or edited with AI carry metadata that records it, and the result page tells you in words.
The details, and their limits, are in the privacy notice, the terms and the rules of use.
