Terms of service

Last updated: 2026-10-01

These terms are the agreement between you and Sarmad Bashir Zargar, sole proprietor, trading as filedone ("filedone", "we"), of Down Town, Sopore, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir 193201, India, for the tools at filedone.ai. By creating an account, uploading a file or buying credits you accept them. If you are using the tools for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf. The privacy notice, the rules of use and the sub-processor list are part of these terms.

1. What the service is

You upload a file (a PDF, a scan, a photo or a design), say what should change, and download the result. Some tools extract tables or text into a spreadsheet; some run entirely in your browser. Processing is automated, using third-party AI models and our own software. No person at filedone reads your file as part of running a job.

AI output can be wrong. Text can be misread, a number can be copied incorrectly, a translation can miss the meaning, and an edit can look different from what you expected. Check every result before you rely on it, send it or submit it anywhere. You decide what to do with a result and you are responsible for that use; we are not a party to it.

2. Your account

3. Your files

4. What the tools refuse

Before an edit runs, an automated classifier looks at the document. It is designed to refuse edits and generated text on government IDs, passports, licences, currency, official seals and stamps, court and police documents, prescriptions, medical records, and degrees and mark sheets from real institutions, and certificates cannot be edited. On these you can still extract, redact or translate the content. The full list, with what stays allowed, is on the rules of use page. A refusal is logged with the document class it was based on. The classifier is automated and can be wrong in either direction: a document it lets through is still your responsibility, and a refusal you think is mistaken can be appealed to the grievance officer. Refusing to make a false document is a legal duty for us, not a preference, and there is no plan or price that removes it.

5. Credits

6. Payments — Dodo Payments is the seller

Purchases are made through Dodo Payments — Dodo Payments Inc. and its group entities (including Dodope Payments Limited and Sarvapanchhi Technologies Private Limited), as named in Dodo's own terms — which acts as merchant of record. filedone (Sarmad Bashir Zargar, trading as filedone) provides the service; Dodo resells it to you. That means Dodo is the seller you buy from, under its buyer terms: it processes your payment, applies and remits any VAT, GST or sales tax due in your country, issues your receipt, and handles payment disputes and chargebacks under its own terms. We do not see or store your card number. Dodo tells us that a payment succeeded, its amount and currency, the billing country and the country of the card, and we add the credits to your account.

We may change prices, packs and plans at any time. A change does not affect credits you have already bought; a new subscription price applies from your next billing period after we tell you.

7. Purchases are final

8. Acceptable use

The rules of use say what you may not do with the tools. In short: no false documents, no content that impersonates or deceives, no intimate or degrading imagery of real people, no editing of anyone's image without their consent, no content that is unlawful where you are or where it will be used, and no attempt to remove the AI label from an output or to get around the classifier, the quotas or the rate limits. Misuse of tools that generate or alter content can attract penalties under Indian law; the rules page lists the statutes and the consequences, which can include refusing a job, blocking a file, closing an account, disclosing an offending user's identity to a victim who complains where the law requires it, and reporting offences to the authorities where the law requires it. We remind account holders of these rules periodically, as Indian law requires.

9. AI labelling

Images our servers produce or edit carry machine-readable provenance metadata with a unique identifier and a signed provenance record, and, where the image allows it, an imperceptible watermark. Edited PDFs carry the metadata and a signed provenance record. Files from our servers carry no visible mark; the tool page and the result tell you in words that the output was made or edited with AI, and you should say so when you share it. There is no option to remove any of this, on any plan or at any price, and removing it yourself breaks these terms. Details are on the rules page.

10. Where the service is offered

The service is currently offered worldwide. We may withdraw it from a country or region where we cannot meet the legal requirements of serving it; if we do, starting a job or signing up there is refused with a notice. Country detection is imperfect, and using the service from a region where it is not offered is at your own risk.

11. Changes, availability and suspension

12. No warranty, and limits on our liability

13. Indemnity (business users only)

If you use the service for a business, you will compensate us for claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from a file you uploaded without the necessary rights or consents, from your use of a result, or from your breach of the rules of use. This section does not apply to you if you are using the service as a consumer.

14. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the top is the version in force. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell account holders by email or on the site before it takes effect; using the service after that means you accept the new terms. Otherwise, the current version applies from the day it is posted.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts at Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory law, and the courts, of the country you live in. Please raise any complaint with the grievance officer first. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies, and not enforcing a term straight away does not mean we have given it up. These terms, with the pages they name, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
