Fix broken JSON — and see what was wrong
This one runs in your browser. Nothing you type leaves this page, and it costs nothing. The output updates as you type.
Before and after
Almost-JSON, and the JSON it was meant to be.
{'order_id': 4192, customer: “Meridian Traders”,
"paid": True, "notes": None,}{"order_id": 4192, "customer": "Meridian Traders",
"paid": true, "notes": null}What this tool does
This tool takes JSON that will not parse — copied from a log, a chat message, a Python print or a config file with comments in it — and repairs what can be repaired safely: trailing commas, single or curly quotes, unquoted keys, comments, Python's True, False and None, numbers written like .5, brackets left open at the end. Each repair is listed with its line and column, and the fixed text keeps your layout, so the difference shows only what was broken. What cannot be fixed without guessing is reported, not guessed at. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you paste leaves this page.
What happens to your file
Your file never leaves your device. This page opens it, changes it and saves the result in your browser; nothing is uploaded, so there is no copy on our servers to delete.
No AI provider sees it either. The page sends us one count that a run happened — no file, no name, no size. Details on the privacy page.
Questions
What does it fix, and what does it refuse to?
It fixes what has only one reasonable reading: trailing commas, single and curly quotes, unquoted keys, comments, Python literals, loosely written numbers, a missing comma between two members, brackets left open at the end. Anything that would need a guess about what you meant is reported with its position and left for you.
Will it reorder or reformat my JSON?
No. The repairs are made to your text where the problems are, so the layout, the key order and the indentation stay as you wrote them.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The JSON is read and repaired by code on this page, in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers, so it is safe to paste a payload with real values in it.
How is this different from a JSON validator?
A validator tells you the first thing that is wrong and stops. This lists every problem it found, fixes the ones that are safe to fix, and hands you the result.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account and no daily limit. It runs on your own device, so it costs us nothing to offer.
