What this tool does
This tool takes YAML that will not parse — often a config pasted through a chat app or a word processor — and repairs only what cannot change what a valid file means: tabs in the indentation, smart quotes wrapped round a value, a byte-order mark, and a missing space after a key's colon on a line the parser refused. Block text under | and > is never touched. Anything else — a duplicate key, an unclosed quote, a bad indent — is reported with its line and column and not guessed at. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you paste leaves this page.
What happens to your file
Your file never leaves your device. This page opens it, changes it and saves the result in your browser; nothing is uploaded, so there is no copy on our servers to delete.
No AI provider sees it either. The page sends us one count that a run happened — no file, no name, no size. Details on the privacy page.
Questions
What does it fix, and what does it refuse to?
It fixes tabs in indentation, smart quotes round a value, a byte-order mark, and a missing space after a colon on a line the parser rejected. It never touches block text under | or >, and it reports rather than guesses at a duplicate key, an unclosed quote or a bad indent.
Why only on lines the parser rejected?
Because "image: nginx:1.25" and "- nginx:1.25" are valid YAML that mean something specific. Adding a space after every colon would silently change them; fixing only lines that fail to parse cannot.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The YAML is read and repaired by code on this page, in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers, so it is safe to paste a config with internal hostnames in it.
Does it validate against a schema, like Kubernetes?
No. It checks that the text is valid YAML, not that the keys are the ones a particular program expects.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account and no daily limit. It runs on your own device, so it costs us nothing to offer.
