How to make a quotation online for free

  1. Fill in your business and who the quote is for; the number, today's date and a valid-until date thirty days on are filled in for you.
  2. Add a line for each thing you will supply or do, with its quantity and price, then any tax lines and a discount. The page beside the form changes as you type.
  3. Press Make the PDF. The quotation opens in the editor: download it as it is, add to it, or press Change the details to go back to the form.

Before and after

An invented form, and the quotation it made.

The form, filled in
Harbour Joinery to Ms E. Clarke:
a fitted oak wardrobe £1,950, fitting £450,
VAT 20%, valid for thirty days.
The quotation PDF
QUO-0001, one A4 page, Ruled look.
Total £2,880.00 with VAT.
Every word is real text in the PDF.

What this tool does

Fill in a short form and this page writes your quotation as a PDF. The form has your business and who the quote is for, the quotation number (QUO-0001 to begin with, counted up in this browser each time you make one), the date, a valid-until date thirty days on and your customer's reference, and a line for each thing you will supply or do, with its quantity and price. Add tax lines you name, such as VAT 20% or GST 18%, a discount, notes, how to pay, terms, your logo and a signature you draw, type or upload. The totals, and the amount in words if you want it, are worked out as you type, in any of eleven currencies or one you type, rupees in lakh and crore. Pick one of three looks — Plain, Ruled or Bold header — and A4 or US Letter. Make the PDF writes it in your browser and opens it in the editor, where you can download it, add to it or go back and change the details; every word is real text. The layout is a generic one, not any brand's or government's, and nothing of ours is on the page. A tax line is a label and a percentage: the page does the sums, not the tax rules. Nothing is uploaded. Describe it, the optional AI step that fills the form from a sentence, costs 1 credit and needs a free account; it never writes a tax ID, bank details, terms or small print.

What to put on a quotation

A quotation says who is offering what to whom, at what price and until when, so the customer can accept it before the work starts. The form has a place for each, and leaves the rarer ones under More options so the first screen stays short.

Quotation, estimate or invoice — which do you need?

Send a quotation or an estimate before the work, and an invoice after it. A quotation is a price you offer and usually hold until a date; an estimate is your best guess at a price that may change. Both are made here: change the title under More options to Estimate, Quote or Proforma. When the work is done, the invoice maker on this site turns the same kind of form into an invoice with a due date.

Describe it, and AI fills in the form

If you would rather write one sentence than fill in boxes, Describe it takes words such as "Quote from Harbour Joinery to Ms Clarke for a fitted oak wardrobe and fitting, plus 20% VAT" and fills in the form for you to check. It is optional, costs 1 credit and needs a free account; the price is shown before it runs.

It never writes a tax ID, bank details, terms or small print: those are yours to type. Only your sentence goes to our server and an AI model, not a file, and a PDF made after it filled any field says AI-assisted in its metadata. Making the PDF stays free.

What happens to your file

Your file never leaves your device: this page opens it, changes it and saves the result in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Only an AI action uploads it, when you run one, and its price is shown first.

No AI provider sees it unless you run an AI action. The page sends us one count that a run happened — no file, no name, no size. Details on the privacy page.

Questions

Is this quotation maker really free?

Yes. Making and downloading the quotation is free, with no sign-up and no watermark, and nothing of ours is printed on it: the page carries only what you put there. The one paid part is optional: Describe it, where AI fills in the form from a sentence, costs 1 credit and needs a free account (new accounts get 20 credits). You never need it to make a quotation.

How long is a quotation valid for?

As long as you say. The form starts the valid-until date thirty days after the quotation's date, and you can change it to any day. Put what happens after it in the terms under More options, such as "Prices hold until the date above"; the terms are always yours to write, never the AI's.

Can I add VAT or GST, and use my own currency?

Yes. Add tax lines you name, such as VAT 20%, GST 18%, or CGST 9% and SGST 9%; each is worked out on the total after any discount. The page does the sums, not the tax rules, so it does not choose a rate for you. Pick pounds, euros, rupees, US dollars, dirhams and six more currencies, or type any other currency's symbol.

Is my quotation uploaded or saved anywhere?

No. The form, the totals and the PDF are made in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us; the only thing we are told is that a run happened. This browser remembers one thing, the last quotation number, so the next one starts at QUO-0002. What you typed stays on the page while it is open, so download the PDF before you leave. Describe it is the exception: it sends your sentence, not a file, to our server and an AI model.

Can I change the quotation after I make the PDF?

Yes. The PDF opens in the editor. Change the details takes you back to the form with everything you typed and the same quotation number, and Make the PDF writes it again. You can also add text, a signature, a highlight or a picture on top with the editor's tools. Every word on the quotation is real text, so it can be selected, searched and copied.
