What this tool does

Fill in a short form and this page writes your receipt as a PDF. The form has who received the money and who paid it, the receipt number (REC-0001 to begin with, counted up in this browser each time you make one), the date, how it was paid — cash, card, UPI, a bank transfer or anything you type — and a line for what it was for, with its amount. Add a discount or tax lines you name if you need them, notes, terms, your logo and a signature you draw, type or upload, with "Received by" under it. The amount received and the amount in words are worked out as you type, in any of eleven currencies or one you type, rupees in lakh and crore. Pick one of three looks — Plain, Ruled or Bold header — and A4 or US Letter. Make the PDF writes it in your browser and opens it in the editor, where you can download it, add to it or go back and change the details; every word is real text. The layout is a generic one, not any brand's or government's, and nothing of ours is on the page. Nothing is uploaded. Describe it, the optional AI step that fills the form from a sentence, costs 1 credit and needs a free account; it never writes a transaction reference, a tax ID, terms or small print.

What to put on a receipt

A receipt says who received how much from whom, when, for what and how it was paid, and is signed by whoever received it. The form has a place for each, and leaves the rarer ones under More options so the first screen stays short.

How to make a rent receipt

Put the landlord under From and the tenant under Received from, then add one line such as "Rent for October 2026, Flat 3B" with the month's rent as its amount. Choose how it was paid, and add the landlord's signature. The amount in words is written for you.

Each receipt you make in this browser gets the next number, REC-0002 and on, and while the page is open the form keeps what you typed, so next month's receipt is a change of month. Whether a receipt is accepted, for a rent allowance claim or anything else, is up to whoever asks for it: this page makes the document you fill in.

Describe it, and AI fills in the form

If you would rather write one sentence than fill in boxes, Describe it takes words such as "Rent receipt from Suresh Iyer to Priya Nair for October, 18,000 rupees, paid by UPI" and fills in the form for you to check. It is optional, costs 1 credit and needs a free account; the price is shown before it runs.

It never writes a transaction reference, a tax ID, terms or small print: those are yours to type. Only your sentence goes to our server and an AI model, not a file, and a PDF made after it filled any field says AI-assisted in its metadata. Making the PDF stays free.

What happens to your file

Your file never leaves your device: this page opens it, changes it and saves the result in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Only an AI action uploads it, when you run one, and its price is shown first.

No AI provider sees it unless you run an AI action. The page sends us one count that a run happened — no file, no name, no size. Details on the privacy page.

Questions

Is this receipt maker really free?

Yes. Making and downloading the receipt is free, with no sign-up and no watermark, and nothing of ours is printed on it: the page carries only what you put there. The one paid part is optional: Describe it, where AI fills in the form from a sentence, costs 1 credit and needs a free account (new accounts get 20 credits). You never need it to make a receipt.

Can I make a cash, UPI or card payment receipt?

Yes. "Paid by" takes any words: cash, card, UPI, a bank transfer or a cheque. A transaction reference, such as a UPI or bank reference number, goes under More options; copy it from the payment itself. The AI fill never writes one, because a reference is a fact to copy, not one to make up.

Is my receipt uploaded or saved anywhere?

No. The form, the totals and the PDF are made in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us; the only thing we are told is that a run happened. This browser remembers one thing, the last receipt number, so the next one starts at REC-0002. What you typed stays on the page while it is open, so download the PDF before you leave. Describe it is the exception: it sends your sentence, not a file, to our server and an AI model.

Can I sign the receipt and add my logo?

Yes. Add a signature and draw it with a finger or a mouse, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a photo of it; the words under it read "Received by" and can be changed. Add a logo as a PNG, JPEG or WebP picture. Both are drawn into the PDF, not added as a layer.

Can I change the receipt after I make the PDF?

Yes. The PDF opens in the editor. Change the details takes you back to the form with everything you typed and the same receipt number, and Make the PDF writes it again. You can also add text, a signature, a highlight or a picture on top with the editor's tools. Every word on the receipt is real text, so it can be selected, searched and copied.
