filedone vs iLovePDF
Use iLovePDF for a wide set of PDF tools, batch jobs, Google Drive and Dropbox, or its desktop and mobile apps. Use filedone to change words on a scanned page in place, which iLovePDF's pages do not describe, or for free browser tools that never upload your file. iLovePDF sells Premium plans; filedone's browser tools are free and its AI tools are paid per job.

What iLovePDF does better
iLovePDF has more PDF tools than filedone, with a free Basic plan, and they reach further: batch processing, Google Drive and Dropbox, desktop apps for Windows and Mac, and mobile apps for iOS and Android that also scan. Its desktop app, iLovePDF says, processes files locally on your computer.
Its editor now edits the existing text of a PDF, not only adds to it: select text to edit, move or delete it. And iLovePDF's privacy policy says it does not use your content to train its own or third-party AI models, and that files are deleted within two hours of being processed.

Editing text in a scanned PDF
iLovePDF offers two things for a scan, and neither changes it in place. OCR PDF converts a non-selectable PDF into a selectable, searchable one, and its FAQ says turning scanned text into an editable format needs OCR, converting it to an Office document. Its editor edits text it detects in a PDF; its pages do not say it edits the words of a scanned page.
filedone's scanned PDF editor changes the words on the scan itself: it paints out the old words and draws the new ones in a matching font, and every pixel outside the changed lines stays your original. It costs 8 credits a job, covering up to 10 pages, and refuses some documents at any price, as the rules page lists. To make a scan searchable for free, use Make a scanned PDF searchable.
Prices
iLovePDF has a free Basic plan, Premium for 1 to 25 users and Business on request. Its pricing page showed us prices in Indian rupees on 4 October 2026: Premium at 500 INR billed monthly, and less a month billed yearly. Premium lists full access to all tools, unlimited document processing, access across web, mobile and desktop, and an ad-free experience.
filedone has no plan you need: the browser tools are free, and the AI tools are paid in credits per job. Credit packs are ₹449 for 100 credits, ₹999 for 250 credits or ₹2,499 for 750 credits in India ($9 for 100 credits, $19 for 250 credits or $49 for 750 credits elsewhere), bought credits do not expire, and monthly plans start at ₹649 a month for 200 credits in India. Your files and privacy
iLovePDF's privacy policy says it deletes your files within two hours of processing, processes personal data in the European Economic Area by default (closer to you if you are outside it), and does not use your content to train AI models. Its pricing page says it is ISO 27001 certified.
filedone's free browser tools never upload the file: it is opened and changed in your browser tab. For the AI tools, which do upload: Deleted from our servers after 2 hours. We do not train AI on your files, and the terms of our AI providers do not allow them to; they may keep request logs for up to 55 days, longer for a request they flag for abuse.

Can iLovePDF edit a scanned PDF?
Its pages describe making a scan searchable with OCR PDF, or converting it to an Office file with OCR, and an editor that edits text it detects; they do not say it edits a scanned page's words in place. filedone's scanned PDF editor does that, for 8 credits a job.
Is iLovePDF free?
It has a free Basic plan with limited document processing, and paid Premium and Business plans. filedone's browser tools are free with no account, and its AI tools are paid per job in credits.
Do both delete files after two hours?
iLovePDF says it deletes files within two hours of processing. filedone deletes files uploaded to its AI tools after 2 hours, and its free browser tools never upload the file at all.
Does either train AI on my files?
iLovePDF's privacy policy says it does not use your content to train AI models. filedone does not train AI on your files either, and the terms of its AI providers do not allow them to.
Does filedone have a desktop or mobile app?
No. filedone is a website that works in a phone or desktop browser. If you want an installed app, iLovePDF has desktop and mobile apps.
