What this tool does

This tool reads the marks table off a mark sheet, result sheet or transcript PDF and writes it into a spreadsheet, one row per subject. It works from the text and positions already inside the document, so nothing is retyped and no mark is changed: a subject recorded as 92 comes out as 92, and a total row is copied as a row rather than recalculated. Mark sheets are usually ruled, and where every cell is closed on four sides the grid is read directly off those lines. Sheets with a header that spans two columns — a "Marks" heading sitting above separate "Theory" and "Practical" columns — are harder, because the ruling lines alone cannot express the span, and those pages are read with more care and their uncertain cells marked. You are told which cells those were instead of having to check the whole sheet.

The values in this file were read from your document by AI, and they can be wrong — check them against the original before you rely on them. Your document itself is not altered.

What happens to your file

Deleted from our servers after 2 hours. We do not train AI on your files, and the terms of our AI providers do not allow them to; they may keep request logs for up to 55 days, longer for a request they flag for abuse.

Uploads and outputs are deleted after 2 hours, whether or not you download them. Provider request logs are kept for at most 55 days. Details on the privacy page.

Questions

What happens to the mark sheet I upload?

It is deleted from our servers after two hours, whether or not you download the result, and it is not used to train anything. While a job runs, parts of the file may be sent to the AI providers we use; they do not train on it and keep request logs for at most 55 days, longer only for a request they flag for abuse.

Can I change a mark with this tool?

No, and not with any tool here. Mark sheets and degree certificates from real institutions are on the refuse list for editing; a classifier checks the document before any edit runs and turns it down. Reading, extracting, redacting and translating them is allowed, because none of those change the document.

My mark sheet has "Theory" and "Practical" under one "Marks" heading. Will that work?

It is the harder case and it is handled, but with less certainty than a plain grid. The ruling lines alone cannot say that one header cell covers two columns below it, so the page needs more than geometry to read. The cells that were least certain are marked in the result.

How accurate is it?

We have not published a number yet, and we are not going to quote one we have not measured. The tool marks the cells it is unsure about.

Mine is a photocopy or a photo of the sheet. Will it work here?

Not on this page — a photocopy has no text to read, only an image. A scanned mark sheet PDF is not handled here yet; screenshot to table reads a table from a photo of the page with OCR. Marks printed in small type on a poor photocopy are exactly the case where you should check the result against the original.
