Sample PDF for translation testing
This is a three-page PDF in which each page is the same public notice in a different language: English on page 1, French on page 2 and Spanish on page 3. Pages 2 and 3 are our own translations of page 1, so when you translate one page you have the other two to compare with.

What is in the file
A fictional water board announces that the supply will be off on two days for a pipe repair. Each page has a coloured title bar, an introduction, a three-row table of areas, dates and hours, three paragraphs and a signature line.
The table and the title bar test whether a translator keeps the layout: French and Spanish run longer than English, so the text must be fitted back into the same boxes.

Licence, and who is in it
Nobody. Every company, person, address, account number and figure in the file was made up by the script that drew it, and every page carries the word SPECIMEN and a line saying it is fictional; the PDF's metadata says so too. The file is dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0, so you can use it in tests, demos, courses and products without asking. Last updated 8 October 2026.
Questions
Are pages 2 and 3 certified translations?
No. They are our own careful translations of page 1, written to give a reference to compare a machine translation with. They are not certified and the notice itself is fictional.
Is there a version in Hindi or another Indian language?
Not yet. The PDF generator we use did not shape Devanagari correctly in every word, and a sample with broken letters would teach the wrong thing, so we left it out rather than ship it.
Can I use this file in my own tests, product or course?
Yes. It is released under CC0 1.0, a public-domain dedication: copy, change, redistribute and use it commercially, with no need to ask and no need to credit filedone (a link is welcome).
Is anything in it real?
No. Every company, person, address, account number, tax number and figure was invented by the script that made the file. Every page says SPECIMEN and that it is fictional, and so does the PDF's metadata.
